FAQs for Q&A
What is a keg?
A keg is a type of container which can be used to store and transport materials such as solids and pastes. Plastic drums such as these wide neck kegs typically feature a screw top cap which has air and water-tight seals which are ideal for easy opening and closing. You can use a container such as the 6L keg to safely transport food and pharmaceutical products.
How to clean a commercial keg
Curtec kegs can be used to store and transport industrial chemicals including corrosive and hazardous substances so you may want to clean your keg from time to time - but you must be careful to avoid any chemical reactions.
Firstly, you can try to contact the manufacturer of your kegs to check which cleaning products they advise using. Otherwise, for many chemicals, water-based solvents are typically safe to use for cleaning. If you need to clean acidic residue, you should first neutralise the keg with alkaline solution before you can move onto cleaning it.
Make sure that you wear protective clothing when you handle and clean industrial chemicals to prevent accidents from occuring and to adhere to health and safety measures.
How to open a plastic barrel
Whether you purchase the 6L or 68L wide neck keg, here’s how to open a Curtec keg:
Place the keg on a flat, solid surface - you can use a special lid locker to keep it in place.
