Its principle is to find a <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">balance between carbon dioxide<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (CO2) emissions from human activity <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and CO2 sequestration <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">by carbon sinks, on a global scale. Adopted by 196 parties at COP21, this agreement aims to <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">limit global warming to a level well below 2\u00b0 C<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (ideally 1.5 \u00b0C) compared to pre-industrial levels, achieving carbon neutrality by the middle of the 21<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">st<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> century.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To achieve these commitments, the European Union has implemented its Green Deal for Europe, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 through a whole range of policies. This covers, for example, the purchase of products and services, and the upstream and downstream transport of goods, up to the use and end of life of the products and services sold.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Although carbon offsetting is only a temporary solution, companies are getting ready to reduce all of their greenhouse gas emissions, whether in scope 1, 2, or 3.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">However, special attention must be paid to this scope 3, which is not only difficult to control but also particularly harmful. After identifying the sectors with a high impact, they must assess the maturity of the business teams, as well as that of the supplier markets.
